Ca - Calcium

Although compounds of Calcium (alkaline earth metal) have been used since the days of the pharaon, pure calcium metal was not obtained until Humphrey Davy electrolyzed it from a salt in 1808. Calcium is fifth in abundance in the earth's crust, of which it forms more than 3%. It is an essential constituent of leaves, bones, teeth, and shells.
