Conclusion of the Eurowards 2003

M. Pat Cox, with the patronage of the European Parliament, brought to a close this edition of the prestigious Eurowards, a competition for companies who have distinguished themselves this year for business excellence in Europe. The competition is a springboard for businesses who compete at regional, national and European levels, in the classification in which their businesses stand out: Encouragement, Seed, Start up and Expansion.

digitAlexandria wins the national final of the 2003 Eurowards held in Rome, 30/10/2003
digitAlexandria won in the Seed category for the innovative Italian company with the greatest potential for commercial development. The Jury, drawn from the world of business and important figures in Europe, considered 1300 commercial projects before awarding the Italian final to digitAlexandria, which then went on to gain second place in the European final.

The digitAlexandria project was presented to the public for the first time at the meeting digitAlexandria, a network for sharing knowledge on the 30th September 2003

The minutes of the meeting, which was held at the CNR (National Research Council) in the Bologna Research Park on the 30th September 2003, are available in the download documents section of the site. The event saw the participation of over 60 representatives of the Italian library community, and provoked interesting and varied points of discussion. The documents available to the public contain interesting information on the subjects addressed in the meeting and include the programe, abstracts and presentations from all the speakers.
